Nayandini was established in 2022. The founder had an early interest in looms and textiles at a young age after her father introduced her to loom equipment in the family's machinery manufacturing business.
She took a career break following a brief stint as a Senior Lecturer at a prestigious women's college in Chennai.
During a visit to her village in 2014, she became aware of the plight of weavers who can only weave a saree and are unable to design a premium product or market their existing products at a fair price.
She helped them change the designs and color patterns, which were well-received by the weavers' customers. Since then, she has established a network of weavers to assist them in designing their products.
Nayandini was legally registered in April 2022 to bridge the gap between creating high-quality saris and marketing them to customers looking for affordable high-quality saris in their neighborhood. Nayandini also has ready-to-wear dress materials for girls till the age of 14.
Now, Nayandini has built a wide network of skilled weavers with unique designs and high quality. The network includes weavers from multiple districts of Tamil Nadu. Each district speaks its own weaving style, which is now available under one roof 'NAYANDINI'.

Building a network among weavers proved challenging, as each district maintained distinct color patterns and designs, highlighting the uniqueness and richness of their craft.
